John Barrowman is an actor and singer born in Scotland on March 11, 1967. Though he moved to America as a child, he returned to the United Kingdom in 1989 and began working in London's West End. He has appeared in numerous musical theater productions and was primarily famous for this work before landing the part of Captain Jack Harkness, who first appeared on Doctor Who and then became the lead character of Torchwood.
