- A lot of it depends on the particular fandom you're talking about. For example, in the Buffyverse and in Stargate SG-1 you'll see as much het as slash, and occasional femslash as well -- while in due South it's almost all slash; het happens, but it's pretty rare -- and Farscape is heavily het. - X-Files is also a majority of shipper stories; I'm guessing it's maybe 80-90%. Majority het, minority slash, though it's a considerable and enthusiastic minority. Almost all of that is m/m; there's only a very small femslash contingent and a lot of the femslash involves an OC. There are also quite a few m/m/f threesome stories, which is something you really don't get in TNG at all. [2]
