[edit] Fan Fiction
According to Jorge R. Frank in a post dated June 11, 1999 on rec.arts.anime.misc, there might have been fan fiction before 1980. This issue is that:
- There could well have been fanfics of earlier series, but I doubt it because fanfics are usually written by older fans, and the very early anime (Astro Boy, Speed Racer, Kimba, etc) tended to aim for a younger demographic.
