Bajoran of Dhakur province. Has a plain military influenced pagh earring. Has red hair of differing shades, often very short in style. Average height, slightly muscular build. Quite attractive.

What is the background history of this character?
Kira Nerys is a Bajoran resistance fighter and now provisional government militia soldier. Family was killed during the Cardassian occupation. Was initially very unahppy about being assigned to Deep Space Nine as is run down and a major centre of forced labour and other related happenings while Cardassia controlled Bajor. She is also no "fan" of her own government since the end of the occupation. She has a special dislike for Win Adami, Gul Dukat and Quark. Her most noteworthy love interests were Vedek Bariel and Constable Odo.

Kira Nerys is seen by many people to be perhaps the most solidly feministic characters to be created in fiction in general, and certainly science fiction. Her charisma, passion and strength of both character and in the physical sense has made her a fan favourite. She is often compared to Ellen Ripley from the "Alien" movie series, Zoe Washburne from "Firefly/Serenity" and Sarah Connor from the "Terminator" franchise in non Star Trek science fiction alone, but with more of a soft edge.
