Lolicon
From Fan History Wiki
Lolicon (ロリコン), also romanized as rorikon, is the female equivalent of shotacon. It is a portmanteau of the phrase "Lolita complex", and in Japan, the term describes an attraction to young girls or an individual with such an attraction.
In a fannish context, it defines the genre of manga and anime wherein childlike female characters are depicted in an erotic, sexual manner. The name is a reference to Vladimir Nabokov's book, Lolita, in which a middle-aged man becomes sexually obsessed with a 12-year-old girl.
Lolicon faces much of the same controversy and criticism as shotacon, regarding its sexualized depiction of underage and sometimes even toddler-aged children, linking it to many with child pornography and paedophilia. Some even consider lolicon worse than shotacon because boys are socially "expected" to be sexual or have sexual urges at a young age.
