subject MediaWest*Con 29 Update #1
Invitations to join this Update list were sent to MW*C 29 members that provided e-mail addresses. If you were already on the MW*C 28 Update list you do not have to sign up again. There are currently 642 on the list. Please let us know if you have an old e-mail address that should be removed.
This is the first MW*C 29 Update. If you are new to the Update list, it is only for outgoing messages from MW*C. You cannot post to the list.
Progress Reports in PDF will also be available to MW*C 29 Update list members in the group files section.
Please remember to use the URL www.mediawestcon.org for the MW*C website. Recently the server was down for 6 days and we had redirected that URL. If you did not use www.mediawestcon.org you would not have been forwarded.
As has been noted on the MW*C website, the host hotel is now a Causeway Bay hotel. This conversion has been a bit rough for us, and caused delays in processing the hotel reservation requests.
As far as we know, they have sent room reservation confirmations to all who participated in the early reservation request process, and are in the process of sending out waiting list notices. However, we keep hearing from members who have not yet received anything and we are trying to get an update from the hotel on their progress.
The hotel will continue to honor the MW*C traditions of allowing pets (though they may want a non-refundable pet deposit for cleaning the room after MW*C by an outside firm as the rest of the time they will be a no pets hotel), door decorations, etc..
However, a couple of the smaller function rooms will not be available due to the ongoing remodeling, so we will be doing a little shuffling because of that. More info on that and other hotel issues will be in PR1 (which we are working on getting out ASAP).
