In 1969, Cambridge grads and writer/comics Graham Chapman and John Cleese teamed up with fellow Cambridge alumni, Eric Idle, Oxford grads, Terry Jones and Michael Palin, and American cartoonist Terry Gilliam created and starred in the television program called Monty Python's Flying Circus, nobody in England where it orignally aired knew how big it was going to be or what impact it was going have.
