The Muse fan fiction community has a fairly recent origins, but has grown fast and now it's a very solid one. It's yet unknown if there exist an off-line, convention and fanzine based fan fiction community related to this community.
[edit] The Band
Muse are an English rock band formed in Teignmouth, Devon in 1994 under the provisional name of Rocket Baby Dolls. The band is formed by Matthew Bellamy (vocals, guitar and piano), Christopher Wolstenholme (bass guitar and backing vocals) and Dominic Howard (drums and percussion). Muse have released four studio albums: their first, Showbiz was released in 1999, followed by Origin of Symmetry in 2001 and Absolution in 2003. The las one, Black Holes & Revelations, released in 2006, was also the most critically acclaimed. Muse have won various awards throughout their career including 5 MTV Europe Music Awards, 5 Q Awards, 4 NME Awards and 2 Brit Awards.

- Belldom: term used for fanworks based on a relationship between Matt Bellamy and Dominic Howard
- Whobell: term used for fanworks based on a relationship between Chris Whostelnholme and Matt Bellamy
- Whodom: term used for fanworks based on a relationship between Chris Whostelnholme and Dominic Howard

- On September 3, 2001, the Livejournal community museband was created
- On March 3, 2003, the Livejournal community museslash was created
- On June 4, 2004, the Livejournal community ru_muse was created
- On January 31, 2005, the Livejournal community museslashicons was created
- On Novemeber 27, 2006, the Livejournal community muse_slash was created
- On early 2008 the MuseSlash Archive [1] was created as an initiative of some memebers from the museslash community
