Quantcast is a tool for fansites. It is similar to Google Analytics in that it informs people who run a fansite of the amount of traffic a site gets, and demographic information regarding visitors. Unlike Google Analytics, this information is public and it is used to rank a site's traffic compared to all other sites on the Internet. This also makes it different than Compete.Com and Alexa which do not pull that information directly from a site to help determine a site's rank.
