- On May 31, 2001, the fact that Cassandra Claire was borrowing from other sources and not properly crediting them is not widely known. While she later she admits she did this, Cassandra Claire claimed that there was a sort of game with her readers. This is clearly not visible in posts like the one posted on this day on ParadigmOfUncertainty. In it, a note by Rachel Adams, the author mentions that she was talking to her brother on the phone about the story and had quoted a funny line from the story. Her brother told her that the line was really from Red Dwarf. The author doesn't quite see the Rimmer/Draco symmetry. Still, the author appreciated the references. [1] The context of the post makes it abundantly clear that the author was not aware of Cassandra Claire doing this prior to the phone conversation with her brother. This indicates that fandom at large was not aware of the game Cassandra Claire later claimed was being played, a game that Heidi also verified as going on.
