- The First Annual Taleswapper Awards for Ranma Fan Fiction were held.
- Best of Ranma Voting was held. This was an award for fan fiction. The results were:
* 1st - "Autumn" by Joseph Palmer * 2nd - "Stepping Stones Ukyou's Tale" by Benares * 3rd (tie) - "Lemonade" by John Walter Biles * 3rd (tie) - "Daigakusei no Ranma #11: Can I Have This Dance? Ranma's On Stage!" by Jim Miller, David Tai, and Paul Gallegos
- Recent Ranma 1/2 Fan Fiction by Taleswapper said “The last quarter of 1995 was a remarkably fruitful period in the production of high quality Ranma fanfics.”

- The Second Annual Taleswapper Awards for Best Ranma Fan Fiction were held.
- Best of Ranma Voting was held.

- Favorite Ranma 1/2 Fan Fiction was held. This was an award that was given quarterly.
- Best of Ranma Voting went monthly in addition to its yearly component.

- On July 4, 2001, the LiveJournal community animefanfic was created.
