[edit] Introduction

Welcome to the Ruby Quill Archive Article. This article is about a site that contains stories that are intended for an adult audience. This means that you must be an adult in order to read and post on the Ruby Quil. The fan fiction on the RQ Archive may contain scenes of violence, adult language, death, nudity, sex, or slash (male/male sexual relationships). These stories are clearly marked with our long list of warnings, so if you see a story with a warning that you don't like, don't read it! :)

This archive accepts many kinds of different stories of most types including Straight, Gay, and Bisexual, to all kinds of ratings. We do not accept femmslash, as I do not have an admin to read it. We also accept some crossovers, including Pirates of the Caribbean, X-Men, Charmed, and Buffy. For Crossovers to be accepted at least, one Harry Potter character should be a feature character.

We are a small, but growing archive, and need more authors in order to truly compete with some of the big archives. Many of the authors currently on this site are authors that have been personally invited by Dream Howler, but I need your help. If you are reading a great story that you think should be archived here, email me and let me know! We hope that with more exposure, and your help, the word will spread around, and it will help us become a great place for fan fiction.

Please help us spread the word about the Ruby Quill, tell a friend today!

[edit] Archive History

The Ruby Quill Archive started as a subdivision of the Erotic Dreams Story Archive back in 2004. This is when I first decided to get into the Harry Potter fandom, and start writing it. To begin with, I just wanted a place to post my stories, later, I decided that it would be nice to provide an archive where you could find good quality stories. At the time, I didn't really know about the hundreds of other archives out there that I would be in competition with.

In the beginning, I was doing all HTML by hand and running two archives, one very popular, and the other new, it soon made me realize that I couldn't keep up with it if the submissions came pouring in. It was around this time that I discovered a online story archive system called eFiction. This was a dream come true to me, and even though I didn't know how to use it, I fumbled my way through it, and the Ruby Quill Archive was born.

Growing steadily in the last two years, the Ruby Quill Archive is a growing place to archive fics for Harry Potter. We welcome Straight, Gay Male, and Bi-sexual stories of all parings. We do not however at this time allow Femslash as we do not have a member of our staff willing to read it.

The Ruby Quill Archive is a subdivision of the Citadel of the Wolf Network, which houses a growing fan fiction recommendations site, an archive, a links database, a plotbunny/challenge/fic adoption site, and a large fan fiction terms database. We are always working on the site, so if the page isn't functioning, try back in an hour or so.
