[edit] The cartoon and canon
The cartoon revolves around the lives of four babies, Tommy Pickles, his best friend Chuckie Finster, and the DeVille Twins, Phil and Lil. Other major characters included Angelica Pickles, Tommy's mean older cousin; Spike, Tommy's dog, and almost all the kids parents. Other characters added over time included Susie Carmicheal, an African-American girl about Angelica's age; Dil Pickles, Tommy's baby brother who was born in the first movie; and Kimi, Chuckie's stepsister, who first appeared in the second movie.

- 1991-Rugrats premires on Nickelodeon
- 1998-"The Rugrats Movie" premires
- 2000-"Rugrats in Paris", a second feature-film is released
