Secret Santa

Secret Santa is used in fandom as a type of anonymous gift-exchange of fanworks, including vids, artwork, and frequently fiction. Typically participants sign up and request certain characters, fandoms, pairings, or ideas, while offering to create similar works in exchange. Requests and offers are matched up so that recipients don't know who is creating their gift until after a later reveal date.

Often there may be participants who do not or cannot complete their assignment, in which case pinch hitters are utilized to hopefully ensure everyone who created something for the exchange will receive something in return.
