[edit] Timeline

Below is a partial timeline of events that took place in this fan community.

  • In January 2009, there was a furor in the Scottish footballing community over Glasgow Rangers fans planning to sing the Hokey Pokey in order to taunt their rival team, Glasgow Celtic. The song was deemed anti-Catholic and brought the Church into it, protesting the fans plans to use the song for that purpose. This in turn led to local government officials stepping in to comment on the situation. [1]
