[edit] Terminology

Below is a list of terms and their definitions that are used in this fan fiction community.

  • Kleenex warning is warning by authors that the piece is so sad it will make the reader cry thus the reader should have Kleenex on hand.

[edit] Jeri Taylor

Jeri Taylor was blamed by many during the original run of the show of killing off the show and destroying many of the characters because of her desire to write the characters as versions of herself and because of her desire to try to make Janeway/Chakotay as canon despite Kate Mulgrew's vocal opposition to this.

[edit] Saffic

On October 10, 1997, the Pink Rabbit Consortium [1] was founded. This site was home to some of the best f/f on the Internet for a variety of fandoms including Alien, All My Children, Babylon 5, Buffy: The Vampire Slayer, ER, Law & Order, NYPD Blue, Star Trek: Voyager and Xena.

On June 20, 1999, Stacy Peters opened The Infinity Complex. This would be an important archive of Star Trek: Voyager f/f slash material. Among the authors archived here were Bodicea, August, Robin Lawrie, Jane St. Clair, LZClotho, Kelly and AgainCourt.

[edit] Tom Paris

Where did the fanon idea from Star Trek: Voyager that Tom Paris was raped in prison come from? This idea first came from fen who had read it in a story by Brenda Atrim. The story worked this concept in so seemlessly that other people borrowed it for their own stories or assumed it was canon and referenced it in their own works. As more people did this, the idea perpetuated and perpetuated until there became honest debate within the fandom as to whether or not this idea was actually canon. (Donna Thelen)

[edit] 2007

  • For most of 2006 and 2007, the tagging game continued to be played on Janeway7.
  • In August 2007, Sazzy, a Janeway/7 shipper, won for best Janeway video at Creation's annual Star Trek convention in Las Vegas. [22]
  • In August, due to a rumor that Yahoo!Groups was removing users who were lurking on mailing lists in this fandom, a number of mailing lists saw an increase in participation so that would not happen. While this rumor was not true, and Yahoo was only removing people who had e-mail accounts bouncing in excess of six months, it did not stop a certain level of hysteria.
