[edit] Timeline
Below is a partial timeline of this author's involvement in fandom.
- Previous to the internet age of fandom, Steven Savage had some involvement in ElfQuest fandom and in original works fandom.
- In 1999 Savage founded Seventh Sanctum, a general site for his creative works, which included his Way With Worlds column from Fanfiction.net and other sites. Later this site would become known for its many random generators, which at the time were only part of the site. At this time he also began work on a worldbuilding column called "Way With Worlds."
- On July 28, 2001, FanFiction.Net began what would be an extended downtime, raising rumors of a hack. In an interview on AIM with Steven Savage in July 2006, he killed this rumour citing that the server had been having problems for some time because of the traffic load and additional features offered on the site. FanFiction.Net was not hacked and FictionAlley.Org had nothing to do with it. This is supported by a post made by Steven Savage at that time on fanfictionnetwriters which mentions the server problems. [http://groups.yahoo.com/group/fanfiction-writers/message/11097
- In 2004 Seventh Sanctum became focused almost entirely on his work in creating random generators for stories, art, fanfiction, and soforth.
- In 2006 Writer's Digest declared Seventh Sanctum one of the 101 most useful sites for writers for that year. [1]
