Taiora is a fan-created name for the relationship between Yagami Taichi and Takenouchi Sora from the Digimon anime. This pairing is the most popular het couples in Digimon 01/02, along with Mimato and Takari. Battles between fans of these ships were a common occurrence during the run of the show. Some fans still fight over it at other sites.[citation needed]

Many people would argue that they fight a lot, but the truth is, an arguement is normal in every relationship, be it friends, a boyfriend girlfriend relationship or even a married couple. I would say that I love the relationship between these two because they have had a lot of things in common. They both play soccer. Sora was even in Taichi's soccer team, and they were always on the field together. Even though Taichi was at first very stubborn and hot-headed, he showed how much he cared about Sora through not his words but his actions. There were also times that Sora did the same for him. This just goes to show that Taichi and Sora have been the best of friends since their early childhood, and because of that, they have shared this incredible bond that is impossible to break.[1]
Perhaps what solidified the Taiora fanbase was the 2nd movie aka Our War Game, the dub made the movie such a Taiora movie the fans went wild. The movie starts with Tai's mail to Sora, where he is apologizing to her and asks her to forgive him. It was actually a stupid thing to fight for. Sora had had a birthday and Tai gave her a hair clip. Sora immediately thought he didn't like her wearing hats. That's how their fight began. In American version Tai didn't know if he should write his name like 'Love, Tai' or just 'Tai'. Then Kari came and she accidentally sent the mail to Sora with the word love in front of his name. In Japanese version Tai didn't know how to write his name (Japanese people have many kanji that are written in different ways but are pronounced the same).Kari accidentally sent his mail when a heart appeared on the screen at his brother's name. In both cases Sora got a Taiora email When Tai needs to call his friends for help, he doesn't want to call Sora, too. He asks Izzy to do it for him and so he does. When Sora's mother answers the phone, Sora isn't at home. She comes while her mother is still talking with Izzy and she reject the phone call when her mother tells her who is calling. There is a funny moment because Sora asks her mother to tell the one on the phone she isn't there at the moment. Her mother tells Izzy: 'Um ... she told me to tell you she's not home ...' Somewhere in the middle of the movie Izzy accused Tai that his behavior is guilty he and Sora are arguing. Then he tells him the story and we see that Tai wasn't really guilty for their fight. Later on Tai urgent needs his friends so he calls Sora again by himself. Sora already comes to his flat and wants to knock but then she changes her mind and goes away. Through the whole movie Sora is repeating the same words: 'Taichi ... you jerk ...' In the end Sora finally reads Tai's email and she smiles, her expression expecially softens when she sees the 'Love Tai' part. Then she sends him a reply. She apologizes for her behavior and she even wears his hairclip (I don't know if she sends him a picture of her wearing the clip or she is just shown so).
But Taiora took a downturn when the creators out of the blue introduced Sorato. The Taiora and Taito fanbase were outraged, the fans of Sora took a dip in popularity, Fans started flaming and a war raged between the fans of Taiora and Sorato.

This section includes moments in which Taiora was apparent in the digimon seasons. Tai and Sora are very good friends. They go to the same class and they even play soccer together. They are like best friends or something more. There are some 'evidence' of their love.
Episode 05 - Kabuterimon's Electro Shocker - Devimon made Andromon evil and it attacks Sora by raising her in the air and threw her aside. Tai and Agumon tried to catch her.
Episode 14 - Departure for a New Continent - Whamon swallows the digidestined and inside of it they are going fast to Whamon's stomach. Because everyone needs to hold on something, Sora is holding herself on Tai's waist
Episode 16 - The Arrival of SkullGreymon - Tai wanted Greymon to evolve to the next level. He knew that if he is in danger, Greymon will reach the ultimate level. While two Greymon are fighting, Tai wants to run to them, so that the evil Greymon would notice him and attack him. In this case he would be in danger and he would succeeded his goal. Sora is the only one who tries to hold him back.
Episode 19 - Prisoner of the Pyramid - One of the strongest Taiora episodes. Datamon kidnappes Sora and Tai tries to save her. The only thing between him and Sora is the firewall, that could kill him. So he is afraid to go through it and then he blames himself. He thinks this is all his fault and he even cries for Sora
Episode 20 - The Earthquake of MetalGreymon - Tai is still concerned about Sora. He wants to save her immediately but others don't think this is a good plan. They find out where Datamon is keeping Sora and Biyomon and Tai goes there to save them. When he finds them, Datamon almost kills Sora by letting her fall in a deadly hole. But Tai saves her in the last second. He doesn't let her fall even when Datamon tries to split their hands apart. In the end, when Tai and MetalGreymon disappear, Sora is the only one who says: 'Come back!'
Episode 22 - Forget About It! - After Tai disappeared in the real world Sora was the first who left the group to search Tai by herself.
Episode 26 - Sora's Crest of Love - One of the strongest Taiora moments. Tai and the others find Sora and she tells them why she was hiding. It was because of herc rest, that she doesn't deserve (at least that is what she thinks). Tai tells her that that's the perfect crest for her because she always thinks on others first. In the English episode Tai said he could feel Sora's love shining through.
Episode 29 - Return to Highton View Terrance - Mammothmon attacked Birdramon which was covering Sora and Tai. When it moved away, Tai was protecting Sora with his body. They were practicly holding each other
Episode 35 - Flower Power - Sora was prepairing herself for training and Biyomon asked her why she must go to the soccer field. She said: 'I have soccer practice and besides Tai will be there, I have to talk to him about some things' (Japanese version)
