Taito is probably the most popular slash pairing in the Digimon fandom, and arguably the most popular pairing in general.
In the first season of Digimon, Taichi and Yamato were at odds with each other, verbally squabbling in the beginning episodes of the show, and finally getting into a physical fight in episode 09 "Subzero Ice Punch" ("Clash! The Freezing Digimon" (激突! 冷凍デジモン)). Their friendship remains in turmoil, and they fight again in later episodes. This is what often is thought to lead to, their rock-solid friendship. They are said to have the greatest friendship out of all the digidestined, with Ken/Daisuke,and Takeru/Hikari coming a close second.
Taito stories focus more on Taichi's strength and determination, glazing over the occasional moment of self-doubt and pretending it doesn't exist. He protects Yamato, who finds that he can let his shields down around Taichi even if he can't do it around anyone else -- especially not his little brother. - On March 1, 2007, Dragonlunch posted Taito Daiken Sorry for love on Youtube. As of September 2007, it has almost 3000 views.

- Splash has long been a member of the Digimon fandom (and is now fan-subbing the newest season of the show), but she is probably best known for her substantial contributions to the Taito fandom. Her website Got Taito? is still updated.
- Resuko was one of the first widely admired Digimon artists; her Daiken and Taito/Yamachi fanart is still popular today.
