Takeru and Iori are Jogress evolution (or DNA Digivolution in the English dub) partners. Because of this, they have a close relationship (as do all the Jogress evolution couples); some fans used this to explore a romantic bond between the characters. Though they are Jogress evolutions partners, they are not often paired up due mostly to Iori's age. While not often paired up, it is interesting to note how Iori was the only one that saw a problem with Takeru when he was trying to fight against the darkness.
