[edit] How are you supposed to estimate "fandom size"?

Since ca. 1997, Gor has had a fairly significant on-line presence for something which hasn't received any real mass-market distribution over the past 10-20 years and which is despised by many, but the on-line "fandom" has always been dispersed among many different sites, and I have no real idea how to estimate its size...
