The list of links has made my eyes roll. Too long. Why hasn't this crossed over that much into non-LJ fan space?

- I agree. I don't think the page needs links to so many fan reactions - they're so similar that a paragraph that says "Some were shocked that this could go down (link to one shocked response), some were smug because they knew she was lying (link to smug response), and some were apologetic that they're helped her (&c.)" would be enough. --Principessa 09:29, 1 May 2008 (EDT)
- Wow. That comment is so old. :-D There are a lot of pages with list of links. That tends to happen when something gets discussed a lot. A better strategy might need to be worked out for how to handle situations where the topic is subject to a lot of discussion. OTW is one that kind of does that really well by addressing them as response types. Orphan Works sort of does it by integrating people's responses into an explanation of the event. (The article for the Harry Potter Lexicon is another article that is an absolute train wreck with link problems.) Not certain how this article could/should be rewritten. (Or if it should? No clue.) I would guess that probably 1/4 of those links are bad by now. but they do help paint an interesting picture as to fandom's response to that situation that serves as a warning of sorts not to engage in sockpuppeting. (Or meat puppeting possibly.) --Laura 09:41, 1 May 2008 (EDT)
- I came over to check this page after working on StalkerGate, I think, and it just struck me. :D I'm planning to beef up this entry with a distillation of what's on BP - maybe I should change "External Links" to "Reactions"? --Principessa 17:17, 3 May 2008 (EDT)
- That makes sense. :) Er. The title change for that section. :) --Laura 18:12, 3 May 2008 (EDT)
