Talk:The Beatles
From Fan History Wiki
I hope whoever wrote this article doesn't mind my minor edits - I'd like to come back later and do a bit more (the material is good, but think the article might benefit from a few changes in format, and I'd like to add a citation template of some sort for the sources, as well). 149.135.31.24 12:06, 12 September 2006 (CDT)
[edit] Beatles and Sex
I'm not sure how correct this statement is: "The Beatles were rejected early by many adults for due to the group member's long hair and sexually explicit lyrics." Early Beatle music was anything but explicit. Their songs from their first few albums included "I Want to Hold Your Hand" and "Happy Just to Dance With You" - which, in fact, includes the line "I don't want to kiss or hold you tight/I just want to dance with you all night," and that's hardly explicit. "Do You Want to Know a Secret" is probably the most sexual out of all of them with the line "Let me whisper in your ear" - again, pretty tame stuff. -User:Jae, 7/3/07, 9:01AM
- The stuff from me was based on what other people had said. I think those sources should be cited in there. Bitch magazine went on about that and it's been brought up in other critiques. --Partly_Bouncy 10:57, 3 July 2007 (CDT)
- Ah, gotcha. I was reading the article (which is very interesting btw!), and I got to that part and had to scratch my head. Strange claim to make. -User:Jae, 7/04/07, 2:59PM
[edit] Fandom size
http://forums.quizilla.com/showthread.php?t=53249 mentions The Beatles. Is there some way to work in that reference into the article? --Laura 14:53, 9 January 2008 (CST)
