I put the information back in. The information was pulled from Verba's book, Boldly Writing and in terms of understanding the relationship between various fandom groups, it seemed important. It can go back out but I'd like a more detailed reason why. --Laura 18:53, 30 March 2008 (EDT)

Well, I think it tremendously overstates the case, to the point of being irrelevant to the main article subject. Sure, there are always people who are convinced that the next group of youngsters are going to overwhelm us (anime fans are the current wave), but if the general SF fan community, particularly those who regularly attend Worldcon, were as anti-Trek as this article states, then why did they present it with the Hugo Award three times (and nominate various Trek works many more times)?

Also, I took out the reference to specific years' Worldcons and replaced it with a link to the actual official list of Worldcons maintained by one of the committees of the WSFS Business Meeting. Among other things, the 1980 Worldcon was in Boston; it was the 1970 Worldcon that was in Germany. KevinStandlee 20:15, 30 March 2008 (EDT)
