[edit] Introduction
Tawnia Baker is a character from the second and third seasons of The A-Team. Portrayed by Marla Heasley, the character was brought in as a replacement for Amy Allen, who was considered too "tomboy-ish" by the producers and they wanted a more "feminine" female sidekick for the team. A reporter like Amy, Tawnia knew of her friend's involvement with the team and wanted to help them out once Amy left Los Angeles on foreign assignment.
Response from fans of the show to the character was generally negative. Amy had many fans who didn't like seeing her replaced, particularly by a character who was seen as just being there for "sex appeal" and lacking in the tougher edge that Amy had. Tawnia was written out of the show in the third season premier episode, The Bend in the River, and from that point forward the team had no female sidekick.
Tawnia is not heavily featured in fanworks unless necessary based on the timeline a story is written in. There is a very small amount of shipping fic (mostly Face/Tawnia and a little Amy/Tawnia) but much less so than those featuring Amy.
