This is a BandFic fandom, in particular part of that group of bands referenced with "bandom" in the exclusive sense. Its existence predates July 2005. It is generally believed that there is not an off-line, convention and fanzine based fan fiction community related to this community.

William Beckett is a member of The Academy Is.... He appeared in a Fall Out Boy music video. This has led to him being featured in some fan fiction featuring The Academy Is... and Fall Out Boy.
