The WB

The WB was the television network arm of Warner Brothers. It was an American corporation, touted as the 4th Network. It was the result of a joint venture between Warner Brothers Studios and Tribune Broadcasting. It debuted on January 11, 1995.
The WB Merged with UPN on January 24, 2006, Parent companies CBS and Warner Brothers announced plans to launch The CW Television Network in the Fall of 2006. The WB as a network was shut down on September 17, 2006 although Warner Brothers continues to provide programming for The CW.
