Tomb Raider was a success of the 1990's in terms of giving gamers worldwide their first notable experience in the new genre of 3-dimensional environments to explore in the vastly developing gaming world.

Creator Toby Gard's scribblings of the female heroine Lara Croft was to prove a money spinner for gaming company Eidos, even though at that time, Gard left the company prior to production, although he was brought back into the fold for the (currently at the time of writing) penultimate Tomb Raider game known as Tomb Raider: Legend.

Lara Croft, a well educated, ex-Gordonstone pupil, has graduated from finishing school and, the sole survivor of an airplane crash, she finds inner strengths and resourcefulness in order to survive. Thereafter, she desires to take on bigger challenges, and becomes almost iconic in her continual search for lost artifacts.

Lara Croft's adventures take us to all corners of the globe - giving the gamer a real feel for the various locations from London's Thames Wharf to the Nevada desert.
