UST stands for Unresolved Sexual Tension. This generally refers to an apparent romantic/sexual undercurrent between characters in a source canon, be it a television series, film, real life or other type of fandom. Shipping often results in fandom from supposed and/or officially acknowledged UST, sometimes with fans debating whether they are happy that the relationship does not become fully canon or not.
