Uber

Uber was coined in 1997 by Kym Taborn of Whoosh.org. She noted on Whoosh that the sudden emergence of Ubers started in 1997, after the Xena episode "The Xena Scrolls" aired. This episode was set in 1942 and featured the characters portraying respective characters' descendants.
