[edit] re:coffeeandink & Will Shetterly

  • Someone appeared to be using the Fanhistory wiki to pick a fight with Coffeeandink, by posting links about Will Shetterly's outing of her (and nothing else) under the section on her "Timeline in fandom".

Coffeeandink wrote about this situation here: http://coffeeandink.livejournal.com/906081.html

It did not appear that the anonymous editor who added those links was motivated by interest in Coffeeandink's involvement with fandom, and it did not appear to me (from my limited knowledge of the situation) that those links could possibly be said to be anything OTHER than a seriously & intentionally misleading outline of Coffeeandink's involvement in fandom - as if all that had ever happened to her was that she had got into a fight with Will Shetterly and been outed by him. So I deleted them. And I've just deleted them again. Sorry, I should have been clearer about it.

The materials listed in the article are properly cited, and as unbiased as possible in explaining the exchange between Mr. Shetterly and coffeeandink. Our policy is move, don't remove. If you feel you can improve upon the citations, or improve the article in general to expand on coffeeandink's background and work in fandom, please create an account and do so. As of now, the article is locked to anonymous editors. --Tikatu 22:49, 23 August 2009 (UTC)
*shrug* Oh well, sorry I bothered editing it: I didn't realise FanHistory were taking Will Shetterly's side in his outing of Coffeeandink: I'd presumed the rule "Do not include addresses, phone numbers, work information, and other information that the individual the page is about would consider personal" would be applied even-handedly, but if FanHistory policy is to exempt Will Shetterly's feud with Coffeeandink from that rule, there's no more to be said and no point in appealling. (Shame the article wasn't locked to anonymous editors BEFORE the malicious links were added, though.) And no - of course I won't be creating an account. Never join a wiki that has rules unevenly applied in order to further fanfeuds, that's what I say.
