WonderCon is a large Comics convention. It is billed as the second-largest comics convention held annually on the West Coast. It also features movie, science-fiction and anime programming and guests.

• The first WonderCon was held in 1987 at the Oakland Convention Center. It remained at that location until 2003, when it moved to the Moscone Center.

• The 2009 convention took place February 27 - March 1. Scheduled guests included Sergio Aragonés, Brian Azzarello, Ed Brubaker, Mark Evanier, Matt Fraction, Gary Friedrich, Dave Johnson, Jim Lee, Aaron Lopresti, Wendy Pini, Trina Robbins, Alex Robinson, James Robinson, Stan Sakai, Roy Thomas and Jill Thompson.
