X-Men: Evolution fandom is based on the animated television series about the Marvel Comics superheroes, the X-Men. Notable about the series are the ages of several of the primary characters - in this incarnation, several of the X-Men are presented as younger, teenage versions of their comicverse counterparts. The series ran for a total of four seasons, consisting of 52 episodes, from November 2000 until October 2003. It aired on Kids' WB.
Though the series has been off the air for several years, Evo fandom has concentrated itself into a centralized and active nucleus at Fanfiction.net, with secondary resources found at Fanlib and Marvelfanfiction.com. Though Evo no longer boasts the number of writers it once did when the show was live, fan writers and fan artists continue to experiment within the universe, producing fan fiction and fan art consistently.
