[edit] Introduction
The Zelda series was created by Nintendo. The first game, The Legend of Zelda, was released in Japan in 1986 and then a year later in America (1987). Although the series has changed greatly since its creation, it features many repeated aspects, most importantly the characters Princess Zelda, Link, and Ganondorf/Ganon, and the relic the Triforce.[edit] Games

[edit] Kerfluffles
The Zelda fan fiction community has traditionally had a problem with Mary Sues. The most famous one is Link's Queen. When The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time was released, the fandom also had a problem with scams.
In March of 2007, an announcement that Dampe, the creator of the 2-D version of Ocarina of Time, had been killed in a car accident was made by Joystiq.[12] However, most doubted the verity of this claim, and fen generally believe that Dampe simply didn't want to continue the project anymore and commited pseucide rather than dealing with the situation properly.[13]
On November 3, 2007, some of the Zelda fen participated in a kink meme. When a post about it was made to the zelda_lovers community on LiveJournal, some people wanked about age and sex in the fandom.[14]
